Co-Founder Maison D’Amore, Director Co.Creative Agency and Creative Director of Isabeau.
Nadia Rosa people!! If you don’t know her, well I guess you’re missing out on a whole lot of creativeness. We caught up with her to discuss her work load & launching a new business
Q1. A/S/L ?
29, Female, Perth
Q2. Where are you right now?
At home in bed, finishing this interview that has taken me so long to get to you. I AM SO SORRY!!
Q3. Talk to me about how you have come to this point in your career, how did it all start out for you ?
It was completely unplanned. I studied in Melbourne and worked there for five years before I moved to Sydney, where I began working in Public Relations. I met so many inspiring and creative people during my time away, they really motivated me to work hard and create something of my own.
Q4. Fingers in a couple of honey pots, might be an understatement, run me through the list of what you call ‘work’ ?
I absolutely love what I do, I know how lucky I am and don’t ever take that for granted. My days are extremely busy, I have a lot to do with everything that goes on behind the scenes for all businesses. I am very hands on so I like to be involved with every step and detail as much as possible. I’m usually at the the office, sending off orders, replying to emails and unpacking / packing boxes, super glam! Aside from that, I often get to work on some pretty awesome campaigns with some incredibly talented people.
Q5. By Isabeau is a new project in the works for you, talk to me about the robes and the idea behind birthing another baby ?
Emmi and I noticed a gap in the market and talked about the idea for a few months before we decided to give it a go. We wanted to create something that every woman can relate to, something that makes them feel special, whether it be at home, by the pool or out and about. We have had such an amazing response so far and can’t wait to share more from ISABEAU.
Q6. When can we see this project live and ready to purchase?
We are live baby www.byisabeau.com
Q11. Tell us about your go to pieces in your wardrobe, what creates the Nadia Rosa uniform?
My style is very comfortable and relaxed. A good pair of vintage levis, blazer or leather jacket and loafers is usually my go to.
Q12. When you aren’t caught up with all the jobs, where can we find you?
At the beach or enjoying a drink with my girlfriends.
Q13. Sydney or Perth ?
Both!
Q14. Cant live with? Cant live without?
Cant live/ work with messy people, I have OCD. Can’t live without my family and a good playlist.
Q7. How do you manage your work load ? What’s a healthy work life balance look like for you ?
Judging on how long it took me to get this done for you I’m not sure you could say I manage my work load well? haha. I am usually very organised, I always set aside time to work on each individual project. My mind never switches off so I constantly have to remind myself to have some time out. I love being outdoors in the sunshine, I walk each morning to clear my head and go to the beach when/ where I can. My weekends are my time to switch off and relax.
Q8. Has there been any specific project that stood out from the rest creatively that has totally wowed your perspective on what you do ?
I couldn’t say there has been one specific project. The one thing that has ‘wowed’ me is being a part of a process where I get to create something I love and then see it in the hands of others. There is no greater satisfaction than seeing someone enjoy your creation.
Q9. How do you find working with your friends? Any advice for someone that wants to go into business with a homie?
We have an absolute blast working together (both M.D and Isabeau). We have the same view and work ethic so it makes life very easy. I think it’s very rare to work so well with a friend, so I have been extremely lucky.
Q10. Talk me through the moment where you realised working for yourself was the goal?
6 months after moving home to Perth, I was feeling extremely uninspired and unmotivated. I had a few opportunities arise that involved working for myself so I went with it and have never looked back since.
Q15. Heading out of town for a weekend trip, what destination is on your map, and who with ?
Sydney, usually to see the girls. Rottnest is also a favourite little place to escape to.
