Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula is home to a lot a lot of treasures – cellar doors, spas and an amazing dolphin research institute. Not least among them is Ridge Road Residence, a private home poking out of thick, wild bushland at the foot of a golfing green.
Architecture firm Studio Four designed the residence to integrate with its surrounds, and the result is a structure that emerges naturally, intuitively from the landscape. It’s a domestic sanctuary; a liveable work of art – a reminder of how beautifully the natural and the man-made can coexist.
Of course, being inside the house is even more rewarding than seeing it from the outside. Vast walls of glass ensure that the unique environment is ever-present, and the property is filled with natural light.
One thing we love about this is that the feel of the home organically changes with the seasons, as the vegetation outside moves through shades of browns, greys, reds and greens. The neutral colours are perfect for the interior, allowing mother nature to take centre stage.
